Valentine’s Day Romantic Dinner

This valentine, treat your loved one to delicious Masala Spice Rub Filet Mignon sided with Mustard and Black Pepper Asparagus and topped off with Rose Water Infused Strawberries and Saffron Fresh Cream!


Masala Spice Rub Filet Mignon

Ingredients

  • 1 Pound Filet Mignon
  • Masala Spice Rub
  • ½ tsp Garam Masala
  • ½ tsp Black Pepper
  • ½ tsp Cumin Powder
  • ½ tsp Coriander Powder
  • ½ tsp Fresh Cilantro chopped
  • ¼ tsp Ginger Paste
  • ¼ tsp Garlic Paste
  • 1 ½ tsp Oil
  • Salt to taste

Method

  • Mix all the ingredients of the Masala Spice Rub together
  • Rub the Masala Spice rub on the Filet Mignon
  • Marinate for an hour
  • Heat a  griddle
  • Cook Filet Mignon on both sides till done to your taste

Filet and Asparagus

Mustard and Black Pepper Asparagus

Ingredients

  • 1 Bunch Asparagus
  • ½ tsp Black Pepper
  • ½ tsp Black Mustard Seeds
  • 3 tsp Oil
  • Salt to Taste

Method

  • Grind Black Pepper and Mustard coarsely in a  coffee grinder
  • Heat a pan
  • Add Oil
  • Add ¼ of the ground spice to the oil
  • Add Salt
  • Add the Asparagus
  • Add the rest of the ground Spice to the Asparagus
  • Cook to desired crunchiness.

Rose Water Infused Strawberries and Saffron Fresh Cream

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Strawberries
  • 1tsp Rose Water(available in Middle Eastern or Indian Stores or can be ordered online)
  • 1 Cup Fresh Cream
  • ¼ tsp Saffron
  • 4 tsp Sugar

Method

  • Soak saffron in 2 tsp of cream, and let it sit for ½ hour keep the rest aside
  • In a separate bowl, take Strawberries, add Rose Water and let it sit for an hour
  • Add the Saffron Cream to the rest of the Fresh Cream
  • Add Sugar to the Fresh Cream
  • Beat the cream till it is stiff
  • Drain the strawberries of the excess Rosewater
  • Place Strawberries and Cream separately in a dish to serve
